Ranchi, October 22: Union Home Minister P Chidambaram today said the Jharkhand Assembly would be dissolved in the next few days.
“You will hear it in the next few days. We will move for dissolution of the assembly once the Election Commission indicates about the dates. I do not require a recommendation from the governor (for dissolution),” Chidambaram told reporters here.
Jharkhand is under President’s Rule with its assembly remaining under suspended animation from January 19 after JMM president Shibu Soren quit from the chief minister’s post and no party or alliance staked claim to form a government.
Lauding the state’s progress during the President’s Rule, Chidambaram expressed confidence that the people would vote wisely in the elections.
