Bangalore, April 27: The Special Court trying the disproportionate assets case against former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today dismissed her application for discharge.
Jayalalithaa had made the plea on the ground that investigation conducted by Tamil Nadu police during the year 1996-97, was “not in accordance with law”.
In his order, Judge B M Malliarjunaiah rejected her contentions and dismissed her petition.
The case will come up for next hearing on May three.
The Supreme Court on March 19 had declined to stay the trial against her in the 14 year-old disproportionate assets case.
