Moradabad, January 21: Two Samajwadi party MPs, Jaya Prada and Jaya Bachchan are likely to resign from the party in support of former party general secretary Amar Singh, Party MLA from Moradabad Sandip Agarwal said here today.
Mr Agarwal said 25 MLAs and seven MPs, including Lok Sabha member from Rampur Jaya Prada and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan, are supporting Mr Singh and are prepared to go to the extent of quitting the party.
”We all are now waiting for the expulsion of Amar Singh, after which we would show our strength. All supporters of Mr Singh can resign in his support and this could start from Ms Jaya Prada and Ms Jaya Bachchan,” he said.
The MLA claimed that Mr Singh should get the credit for a regional party like SP achieve recognition in national level politics.
All supporters of Mr Singh would meet here soon to work out a concrete future plan.
He also expressed his hope that Amar Singh might launch a party in the near future.
