New Delhi, September 26: To act in the face of terror is by no means a simple task, but it did not take a moment for rickshawpuller Salim Ahmed to give the perpetrators behind the Jama Masjid firing the chase. His efforts have not gone in vain.
The Anti-Terrorist Front led by M S Bitta felicitated Salim here today for displaying courage during the firing incident near Jama Masjid on September 19. He was also rewarded a cash prize of Rs 25,000.
Salim Ahmed, who was ferrying some passengers when the attack that injured two Taiwanese nationals took place, had thrown stones at the assailants and even chased them in a bid to stop the duo from escaping.
Bitta, while congratulating Salim for “rising to the situation,” urged all Indians to be “active citizens” rather than “mute spectators.
