Visakhapatnam, December 26: As date for Odarpu yatra in the Port City is approaching near there is a perceptible commotion in the political scene in the region.
The ‘Jagan Akarsh’ mission is already switched on in the district which is gradually yielding results. The impact of the Vijayawada ‘Lakshya Deeksha’ which was a resounding success, is visible in the district.
The strategies of the Congress and the Jagan group are juxtaposed at a point blank range. The MLAs’ polarisation in the context of Odarpu Yatra has became a hot topic in the city.
Dronamraju Srinivas has already stated clearly that he would remain a loyal Congress man. MLA Tynala Vijakumar is also said to be allying with the Congress.
Payakaraopeta MLA G Babu Rao has attended the Vijayawada meeting and asserted that he would toe the line of people of his constituency. The Yalamanchali MLA Kannababu, also in a similar statement, said YSR statue would be unveiled by Jagan in his constituency.
The Narsipatnam MLA, B Mutyalapapa and MLA M Vijaya Prasad are said to be on the horns of dilemma. But recently some Congress circles felt that Vijaya Prasad was going to ally with the Jagan camp. Minister Balaraju has been assigned to rescue the party in the district. He is meeting the Congress MLAs of the district and discussing the party affairs and directed them to highlight the development projects and schemes of the Congress government on every possible platform.
He has already met main leaders of the party several times and instructed them to strengthen the party.
The Jagan Akarsh mission is also making inroads into the Congress.
Former TTD Chairman B Karunakara Reddy, who is one of the main aides in the Jagan camp, is also meeting the Congress leaders in the district.
He is supervising the Odarpu Yatra in the district. Already, MP S Hari and former minister K Ramakrishna are doing the spadework for the Yatra. One more happy development in the Jagan camp is that Praja Rajam Party ( PRP) city vice president P Srinivas Rao has expressed his wish to join the Jagan Camp. One of the powerful leaders in the city’s PRP unit Vamsi Krishna Yadav is said to be trying to jump into the Jagan Camp.
