Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party leader Nama Nageswara Rao has alleged that the YSR Congress party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has turned MLAs into purchasable commodity.
Talking to the media here on Friday, he called upon the people not to allow defectors to move about amongst them. Referring to suspension of a CBI court judge for accepting bribe to grant bail to the jailed former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardana Reddy, Nama said that it was shocking that the Mafia in the State has started to corrupt all the systems, including the judiciary.
Stating that scams have increased only after Congress came to power, he said even the scams that had come to light only because of the initiative of the courts. He said that the mafia was trying to corrupt even judiciary. He said that Jagan was offering Rs 2 to Rs 10 crores to attract MLAs into his party.
Another TDP MP Devender Goud has said that both Gali Janardana Reddy and Jagan had developed their businesses only through corrupt means. He lamented that the mining mafia posed a great threat to very survival of democracy in the country.
He said that the mafia was now threatening even the integrity of the judiciary. He said that bribing judge Pattabhirama Rao by Gali Janardana Reddy was a serious offence and those responsible be sternly punished. He said that the mining mafia has attempted to make several people surrender with its money power and those who had not yielded were harassed through other means. (NSS)
