Hyderabad, October 17: Congress MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy would take a break from his ‘Odarpu yatra’ to attend the Parliament session beginning next month.
Responding to requests from residents of several villages in Nellore district who urged him to visit their villages, Jagan appealed to them to let him go as per tour schedule.
“I should attend the Parliament. If I do not attend Parliament, then there will be a campaign that I am not attending Parliament,” he said.
The ongoing yatra in Nellore district, that began this week, is likely to continue for about a month.
State Mines Minister B Srinivasa Reddy, a close relative of the YS family, had earlier indicated that it may take about two years for Jagan to cover all the 23 districts in Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, Jagan continued his Yatra in Nellore district today.
Despite Congress high command’s reservations, Jagan resumed his controversial yatra in Prakasam district on September 3, a day after the first death anniversary of Rajasekhara Reddy. The party has indicated it may not take any action against him for now.
