Jagan Case : Sabita Confers with Kiran for 2 hours

Home Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy on Thursday met Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in the CM’s camp office and conferred wit him for over two hours. Sabita Reddy’s meeting with the Chief Minister attained importance as six ministers, who had received notices from the Supreme Court in connection with the YSR Congress chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case, were being called by the CBI one after another for inquiry.

It may be mentioned here that out of six ministers, who were served with notices by the Apex Court, Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao has already been quizzed and arrested by the CBI. The former minister has been sent to Chanchalguda jail for judicial custody.

The second minister called by the CBI was Ponnala Lakshmaiah, who was major irrigation minister in YSR regime. Ponnala has been summoned by the investigative agency to appear before it for inquiry on Thursday. The remaining four ministers — Sabita Indra Reddy, Dharmana Prasada Rao, Kanna Lakshminarayana and Dr J. Geeta Reddy — are likely to be called by the CBI shortly.

Sabita Reddy, who was minister for Mines and Geology, during the late YSR regime, reportedly discussed with the Chief Minister about the decisions taken by the YSR government, CBI inquiry and other related issues. (NSS)
