Hyderabad, July 09: The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (JAC) today announced that the ‘Vanta Varpu’ (cooking food on roads) and ‘Rail Roko’ programmes will be held on July 12 and 14.
Announcing this to reporters after a meeting of the JAC held at the Telangana Film chambers in Secunderabad here, its Chairman Prof M Kodanda Ram said the ‘Vanta Varpu’ programme would be held in nine districts in the Telangana region on July 12.
The twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad was exempted from the programme as it was held there earlier, he said.
Mr Kodanda Ram said the ‘Rail Roko’ programme would, however, be held only for one day (earlier announced for two days) in the entire Telangana region on July 14 following which the movement of train services was likely to be affected.
The two programmes which were to be held from July 8-10 was postponed by the JAC to explore possibility of launching a broader agitation in coordination with MPs, MLAs, MLCs of all parties, who submitted their resignations recently for the cause of Telangana statehood.
