New Delhi, May 03: The Supreme Court has stayed the probe by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case till May 11.
Police officers who are being probed by the SIT had approached the apex court and argued that of the three SIT members, Karnail Singh has been transferred and another member Mohan Jha will look after administrative matters of the SIT, in effect leaving just the third member – Satish Verma – to investigate the case.
The petitioners argued that it has become a single member probe and they challenged it.
