Ahmedabad, April 05: The special investigation team (SIT), probing the 2004 police encounter of Ishrat Jahan and three others, today submitted its progress report in the case in a sealed cover to the Gujarat High Court.
The report was submitted in the High Court registry ahead of hearing in the case, scheduled on April 8, before the division bench of Justice Jayant Patel and Justice Abhilasha Kumari.
In January this year, the court had directed the SIT to submit its progress report every two months and update it about the status of investigation in the case. The court had also appointed Y S Lakhani as amicus curie in the case.
