Hyderabad, August 18: TDP leaders have alleged irregularities in sale of tickets for paid rituals at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.
Telugu Desam Chief N Chandrababu Naidu has alleged that TTD Board Chairman D K Adikesavulu Naidu is a liquor baron and an “atheist” and demanded that the government constituted a new board comprising those with a spiritual bent of mind.
Naidu, Praja Rajyam President and Tirupati MLA Chiranjeevi recently trekked to Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateswara, to press for their demands and held a sit-in in front of the administrative building of the TTD at Tirupati.
In addition to Opposition, some regional TV channels have been running a campaign for “cleansing” the temple brass.
