The Centre will ensure setting up of Central and Tribal universities in Andhra Pradesh as specified in the State Reorganization Act, assured HR Development Minister Smriti Irani when she called on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here today.

The Union minister said the Centre would provide all possible assistance to the State to improve the education sector. To reduce the school dropout rate, the Central government has decided to provide transport facility to the school children, she added. when the Chief Minister When Chandrababu Naidu told Irani that world renowned universities — Stanford, Harvard and Yale expressed their willingness to start campuses in India — and he desires for such campuses in Amaravathi, the Union Minister responded saying that the Centre will provide full cooperation to make it a reality. The Chief Minister apprised the Union Minister of all the measures taken by the State government to achieve total literacy in the State.
Calling Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu as dynamic, Smirti Irani said the education sector in Andhra Pradesh was bound to touch the pinnacle with the steps taken by Chief Minister. Centre will respond to any request for assistance from Andhra Pradesh at the earliest, the Union Minister said.
The meeting was attended by Union Minister of State (MoS) for Roads Transport, Highways, Shipping Pon Radha Krishnan, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Minister of Health and Medical Education, Kameineni Srinivas. Ministers of Parliament Konakalla Narayana, Kesineni Srinivas and Joint Secretary to C. M P. Pradyumna also attend the meeting.(NSS)
