Two held, 12 Digital, 5 Video Cameras recovered

The West Zone sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force on Tuesday apprehended two persons — one for committing theft of costly Digital and Video Cameras and another for receiving the stolen property — under the limits of Hyderabad and Cyberabad commissionerates. The sleuths recovered 12 Digital and five Video cameras all worth Rs 20.25 lakh from their possession.

 

The accused were identified as      Devarinti Vinod Kumar Reddy alias Vinod, 33, a Tea stall owner at Nalla Cheruvu in Anantapur. The receiver of stolen property was Palle Laxmidas Goud alias Das, 41, of Nagole old village, Ranga Reddy district.

The modus operandi of the principal accused was to go to Photo studios in Hyderabad with an intention to commit theft of cameras by joining them as helper. He used to work for two or three days and observe the movements of studio owner and in their absence, he used to commit theft of Cameras, Lenses, Camera Chargers from the photo studio and escape from there.            After committing offences, the accused Devarinti Vinod Kumar Reddy used to sell Photo Cameras & Video cameras to Palle Laxmi Das Goud at lowest price.  The accused along with recovered property was handed over to SHO, Gopalapuram PS, Hyderabad for taking further necessary action.

The arrest was made under the supervision of  B.Limba Reddy, Dy.Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, by  L.Raja Venkat Reddy, Inspector of Police, West Zone Task Force, with the assistance of SIs  V.Kishore,  M.Prabhakar Reddy,  P.Mallikarjun of West Zone Task Force and staff of West Zone Team, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad.  (NSS)
