IT & Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao, who is touring the US to lure businessmen and industrialists to invest in Telagnana and partner in its growth on Tuesday unveiled the mammoth plan of water management, supply and protection methods at the international arena and got accolades.
Delivering key-note address at Environmental Water Resource Congress, the Minister, while touching upon “Bathukamma” – State festival, called upon the noted businessmen and companies to invest in Telangana and become its growth partners. KTR gave a detailed picture of how Telangana Government was implementing the flagship program of Mission Bhagiratha to address the decades-long fluoride problem of Nalgonda district and help provide safe waters to every household in the rural areas besides Internet facility simultaneously. “The Telangan Government has taken up the water project which is first of kind in India as no other State ever conceived such a program and is able to meet the sustainable environmental goal VI of the UNO.
“We are taking every measure for water management and providing internet facility to connect with the rest of the world through Telangana Fiber Grid and offer E Health and E education services”, KTR stated. He also said Mission Kakatiya is another flagship program to revive economy to empower poor and farmers by restoring lakes, water bodies and ponds. The Government has set a target of restoring 46,000 lakes in a year to help increase ground water table and irrigate farms in a big way and prevent migration of farmers for livelihood”, KTR averred.
KTR T also called on San Mino CEO Jure Sola at Silicon Valley and HP CEO Keerthii Melkote, Adobe Systems CEO Santhanu Narayana and other Hyderabadis and discussed about various programs being implemented by the TRS government. KTR asked them to partner in the growth of Telangana by investing in chosen sectors. Telangana NRIs should come together and cooperate with the government to implement its schemes, he added. (NSS)
