Dhaka, January 23: Ace Indian pacer Santhakumaran Sreesanth will miss the second and final Test against Bangladesh at Dhaka due to hamstring injury and is reported to be on his way back to India.
Sreesanth had limped off the field during the fifth and final day’s play of the first Test, which India won by 113 runs.
India is already without senior batsman VVS Laxman, who split his webbing on the left hand while fielding in the first Test but is still staying with the team and was seen doing light practice.
Meanwhile regular skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is expected to return and lead the side for the second Test. Dhoni missed the first Test due to back spasms.
Star off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is also expected to be declared fit for the second Test starting Sunday though it is still unclear whether he will replace Amit Mishra in the starting XI.
Meanwhile, the Indian team cancelled its training session here. The team also took some time off to attend a dinner hosted by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
