Dubai, April 09: Police in Khor Fakkan in Sharjah have arrested two women including a 20 year old Indian for allegedly taking pictures of women in a fitness centre and a beauty salon with their mobile phones.
A senior police official said the two women were identified as S B A, 20, an Indian national, and M Sh H, 45, an Arab national.
“The women were arrested because they were invading the privacy of customers and taking pictures without their consent,” Colonel Saif Al Zari, Director General of the Eastern Region, Sharjah Police, told the Gulf News.
Police initially received a complaint from an Emirati man who claimed that the Indian suspect, who was also a staff member at the fitness centre, was taking pictures of his relative while she was exercising.
Fitness centres in the emirate of Sharjah are segregated, with men and women in separate areas though some gyms in Dubai admit members from both sexes, the report said.
