New Delhi, January 17: Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao has said the Indian Government was not completely satisfied with the response of the Australian authorities to its concern over the continuing attack on Indians.
She said there was legitimate concern and India had impressed upon Australia that they need to do more to address the cause of this violence and to bring the perpetrators to book.
”You need to restore the climate of confidence and security among Indians living in Australia,” she said in the Devil’s Advocate Programme to be aired on CNN-IBN channel tonight.
Ms Rao, however, said the Australian Government had engaged with India closely in the wake of the attacks and there had been a continuing dialogue and communication.
”As you know, we have a good relationship with Australia. From the Australian side it is often defined as excellent, and we have shared that assessment. But we must not let these events cast a shadow on the relationship,” she said.
