India has lodged its protest in an “effective manner” over reports that China has in its recent map shown Arunachal Pradesh as its territory, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said today.
“The Spokesperson in the External Affairs Ministry has lodged the protest in an effective manner,” Singh told reporters here about recent China maps which show disputed areas in Arunachal Pradesh and South China Sea as its own.
“I have already said that as far as the question of external security is concerned, we will prove true to the expectations of the people,” he said.
The Spokesperson had said, “The cartographic depictions do not change the reality on the ground. The fact that Arunachal Pradesh in integral and inalienable part of India has been conveyed to Chinese authority at several occasions including at the very highest level.”
India’s concerns over China continuing to show Arunachal Pradesh in its maps and Beijing’s plans to build rail links with Pakistan through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir were also raised by Vice President Hamid Ansari during his talks with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing two days ago.
