Srinagar, October 02: Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers killed a suspected infiltrator along the international border in Jammu sector Ranbirsinghpora and Kashmir, an official said Friday.
The man died in a shootout between the troops of the FSF and suspected infiltrators near a Mangla in Ranbirsinghpora sector, some 30 km west of Jammu, on Thursday night.
“Our troops were fired upon from the other side (the border). Also retaliated. The fire left a dead infiltrator,” a BSF official IANS.
He said the incident occurred after the infiltration attempt foiled at the border in Samba sector, 40 km south-west of Jammu.
The FSF plans to address the issue of recurring incidents of firing from across the border with Pakistan Rangers, the official said.
