Hyderabad, May 14: The police on Thursday suggested to the management committee of Makkah Masjid to increase frisking of tourists at the Masjid as part of foolproof security arrangements.
South Zone DCP N. Madhusudhan Reddy, during his inspection, found that tourists were moving freely on the mosque premises.
He told the mosque committee to subject all tourists to thorough frisking since there was a possibility of terror operatives entering the area in the guise of visitors and planting explosive materials inside. Visuals of nearly 15 surveillance cameras installed in the mosque were not getting recorded due to a technical fault in the operating system.
