Dubai: In two separate cases, Abu Dhabi court asked three persons, accused of having an illicit relationship to produce evidence that they did not commit the crime.
In the first case, a 32-year-old woman who came to UAE on a visit, accused of having an illicit relationship. When the woman denied the charges, the judge asked her to produce evidence through the defence lawyer. It is alleged that she had an illicit relationship with the person staying with her in the apartment.
In another case, two Arab nationals who were accused of having a relationship outside wedlock appeared before the court. In this case too, both the accused denied charges.
Responding to it, the judge said that if you did not commit the crime, produce evidence supporting your claim.
Next hearing of both the cases will be held on 6th September. It may be mentioned that illicit relationship is a crime in UAE.
