IIT Kanpur celebrates 50 years

Kanpur, August 21: Many countries, including Ethiopia, Vietnam and Brazil, today sought cooperation in the field of science and technology from IIT Kanpur during a function organised here to mark the Golden Jubilee of the premier institute.

Ethiopian Ambassador to India Genet Zewdie requested the professors of IIT Kanpur to teach students in her country through video distance learning education to help them gain expertise in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

Mentioning that four students from the country are presently pursuing their M.Tech from IIT Kanpur, Zewdie said she wants that the institute should admit more students from her country.

“Vietnam seeks cooperation from IIT Kanpur in the fields of Bio-materials and Biological Science,” Vietnamese Ambassador to India Vu Quang Diem said.

Meanwhile, Associate Vice-President of Brazil’s Pontifical University, Dr Roza Marina De Brito sought the premier institute’s cooperation in the field of Basic Science and Designing.
