Mirpur, January 13: India were dismissed for 245 in 48.2 overs by Sri Lanka in the final of the Idea Cup tri-series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.
Suresh Raina (106) hammered a brilliant ton to rescue India after they were reduced to 60/5 in the 11th over. Raina added 106-run for the sixth wicket with Ravinder Jadeja (38) to repair the Indian innings.
Sri Lanka who won the toss and elected to bowl first were on song right from the start with the new ball partner of Nuwan Kulasekara (4/48) and Chanaka Welegedara (3/53) bowling to superbly to trouble the Indian batsman early.
Gambhir (1) was bowled in the first over, Virat Kohli (2) and Yuvraj Singh (0) soon followed as SL reduced India to 16/3. Sehwag (42) and Dhoni (17) added 41 for the fourth wicket but both soon perished to some good deliveries.
Raina and Jadeja batted well on what seems to be a good batting pitch but the Lankans came back whenever India try to build a partnership. Dilshan (1/18),who trapped Jadeja leg before, and Suraj Randiv (1/47) bowled well in the middle overs.
Raina added 47 with Harbhajan (11) and 20-run with Zaheer Khan (16) but Sri Lanka ensure India did not go past 250 with some disciplined bowling.
Earlier Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara won the toss and elected to field first.
Sri Lanka brought in Nuwan Kulusekara in place Suranga Lakmal while India made three changes in the side with Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan all back in the team in place of Dinesh Karthick, Amit Mishra and Sudeep Tyagi.
