‘I was offered Rs 1 crore to join BJP,’ claims Hardik Patel’s aide

AHMEDABAD: Patidar leader from Gujarat, Narendra Patel, made a shocking revelation by alleging that he was offered Rs 1 crore to join the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

He made the sensational revelation at a press conference in Ahmedabad where he also showed the money which was allegedly given by BJP as a token for joining the party.

Patel said that Patidar leader Varun Patel took him to a meeting where it was discussed that he will be given Rs 1 Cr and also received Rs 10 lakh in advance was asked to collect the other Rs 90 lakh at a BJP function scheduled for Monday.

“I was called to Ahmedabad… then taken to Gandhinagar. I was offered Rs 1 crore to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. I have already been given Rs 10 lakh advance,” claimed Narendra Patel while addressing a late-night press conference on Sunday.

“The Rs 10 lakh given to me were not earned by hard work and I will be returning it to them,” he further said.

Hardik Patel’s key aides – Varun Patel and Reshma Patel joined the ruling BJP on Saturday.

Both were among the prominent faces of the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) and remained critical of the ruling BJP during the agitation.

Hardik Patel, unfazed by the announcement of his key aides, in a tweet said that will he “continue to fight until the public is with me.”

“The centipede will continue to run even if some of his legs break. People are with me, and I will continue to fight for them,” he said.
