Development of Charminar area like Golden Temple in Amritsar: KCR

Making it clear that minorities’ development and welfare was among the top priority programs being implemented by the State government, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao asked the officials concerned to work with more dedication for the Minorities, who are like the SCs and STs, living in abysmal poverty.

The Chief Minister held a high-level review meeting on the Minority Welfare at Pragati Bhavan here on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister wanted the minorities to be beneficiaries of the all the development schemes that the government has initiated. He wanted self- employment for the minority youth, subsidy to units worth Rs one lakh to Rs 2.5 Lakh be given without having any link with the banks. The CM also said the minorities should have 10 percent quota in the Double Bed Room houses. He also wanted necessary measures to be taken to strengthen the Minority Development Corporation, Urdu Academy and the Wakf Board.

 

The Chief Minister said, “Minorities are in large numbers in the State like the SCs and STs. Muslims are in majority among the other minorities. There is abject poverty among the minorities like in the SCs and STs. During the separate State movement, on several occasions I told that once the Telangana State was formed, there would be light in the lives of minorities. After the formation of the State, the government has given top priority for the development and welfare of the minorities and we have increased the budgetary allocations. We are implementing new programs. We should spend funds for the minorities on par with the SCs and STs. If all the communities in the Telangana State prosper, there would be a comprehensive development. Even if one community lags behind, it cannot be called the comprehensive development,” the CM said.

           

The Chief Minister also wanted conduct of entrance tests, tests for the recruitment to government jobs in Urdu language along with English and Telugu and an exclusive industrial estate and IT Corridor for the Muslims. He also wanted to construct Hyderabad International Islamic Cultural Convention Centre in 10 acres in Kokapet with international standards and should commence construction works in three weeks.

He also ordered development of Charminar and its surrounding areas like the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

Every tourist visiting Hyderabad wanted to pay a visit to Charminar. Create parking spaces around Charminar and create facilities to enable tourists to spend some time at the Monument. He asked the officials to develop 42km stretch along the Musi River like the Sabarmati riverfront in Gujarat and arrangements for plying metro and Nano rail along the Musi riverbank. Appoint a special officer to oversee the Musi River front development. Develop shopping complexes, Parks as well as double bed room houses for the poor, he said and ordered launching of several emergency works under Hyderabad parliamentary constituency and release of Rs 40 crore from the SDF.

Residential schools, a revolution: Asaduddin

Speaking at the meeting, Hyderabad MP  Asaduddin Owaisi said the Minority residential schools being set up at the initiative of the Chief Minister were nothing but revolutions and within the next 10 years they would bring a social revolution in the society. Stating that several Muslim families were eager to send their children to the Residential Institutions, Asaduddin said teaching, food and accommodation in the hostels are good.

Concluding the meeting, the Chief Minister said there was no property worth other than giving good education to future generations. He also said he was getting requests from the MLAs for more schools and sections.

The Management of the Jamia Nizamia thanked the CM for agreeing to give government recognition to the courses offered by the Institute. MLA Pasha Quadri, Ulema Committee Chairman Badshah Quadri, Chancellor Akbar Nizamuddin, Vice- Chancellor Mufti Khaleel and others met the CM.
