Los Angeles, July 29: Umbrella hitmaker Rihanna has dismissed reports that she has secretly rekindled her romance with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. The former couple sparked romance rumours when they recently checked into the same hotel, but the R&B superstar insists that it was nothing but a mere “coincidence”, Access Hollywood reported.
The couple split after the infamous assault episode in February, which left Rihanna with a battered face. Brown was arrested and charged with domestic violence and was sentenced to community service and five years’ supervised probation after pleading guilty to the attack.
Brown recently apologised publicly to Rihanna through a video posted on his official website. The Kiss Kiss singer, 19, who was ordered to stay away from Rihanna, had caused a stir when he checked into the same hotel in New York where his ex-girlfriend was staying. But a representative for the 21-year-old singer has dismissed the rumours, insisting the former lovers were not there together.
“This was a coincidence. She’s stayed there before, as have thousands of other people,” said a spokesperson for Rihanna.
