Hyderabadi killed in London

London, March 12: A 30-year-old man from the city met with a tragic end in London after he was trapped in his home which was set on fire by the home owner’s son following a domestic dispute on Sunday. The owner was also charred to death.

K. Sunil Kumar of Amberpet was working as Accounts Manager in Virtual Internal UK Limited for the past four months.

Incidentally, he had moved as tenant into a house owned by an NRI family last Saturday at Street No. 5, Boulcott in London. The house owner hails from Punjab.

According to reports available, a verbal duel took place between the house owner and his son on Sunday and in a fit of rage the latter reportedly set fire to the house and ran away. Kumar along with the house owner were caught in the burning home and charred to death, family members said. The incident came to light on Thursday when the police informed the matter to Kumar’s relatives Chandrakanth and Haritha who are staying in London. They, in turn informed their aunt Padmaja in L.B. Nagar.

Padmaja rushed to Kumar’s house in Amberpet with the information. On hearing the news, Kumar’s parents – Babu Rao and Shoba Rani – collapsed as he was their lone son. The couple has three daughters Ambica, Sridevi and Vijayasri.

According to relatives, Kumar worked in a private firm at Adarshnagar for a brief stint after completing MBA-HR. He later got a job in the sales wing with an MNC in London in August 2009. For the past four months, he was working as Accounts Manager in Virtual Internal UK Limited.

A pall of gloom descended over Kumar’s residence following the incident. Relatives and friends were visiting the house to console the family members. His father Babu Rao retired from South Central Railway in 2006.

Relatives have met senior officials at the Secretariat on Friday to complete necessary formalities for bringing the body to the city.
