Hyderabad: Following a complaint from one Dr. Durga Rani, the Hayatnagar police today arrested two persons for allegedly plotting to kill her.
Talking to media persons here on Saturday, DCP Venkateshwar Rao said Dr. Durga Rani lodged a complaint with the Hayatnagar police that one Ramesh Goud, who was her partner in running a private hospital, was planning to physically liquidate her by hiring some professional killers. Responding to the complaint, the police plunged into action and detected that Ramesh Goud had given a supari of Rs 10 lakh to murder Dr. Durga Rani.
The police launched a manhunt for contract killers and managed to nab two out of four suspects. However, the principal accused Ramesh Goud was absconding, the DCP said, adding that the police seized cash of Rs 45,000, a knife, three mobile phones from the accused.
Police said Dr. B. Durga Rani, a gynecologist from Hayathnagar and principal accused B. Ramesh Goud were running two hospitals in the past. Later differences arose between them and Goud walked out of the partnership after a due settlement. He was also arrested by the police for posing to be a doctor and cheating people with a fake degree. Hence, Ramesh Goud bore a grudge against Dr. Durga Rani and wanted to physically eliminate her, the police said.
To execute his plan, Ramesh Goud allegedly paid Rs 5 lakh to one Mohammed Rafi alias Rafee and J Ramesh to kill Dr. Rani. However, with the doctor approaching the police stating that she was receiving threatening calls, the police nabbed the merchants of death before they executed their plan. Police have launched a manhunt for Ramesh Goud, who was absconding. (NSS)
