Exuding confidence that the Congress party would come to power in 2019 elections in the state though the TRS party speaks volumes, Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao questioned the TRS government to explain as to how it will justify the state’s second place in corruption and accepting bribes as revealed by the Centre for Media Studies (CMS). It may be mentioned here that the CMS survey revealed that 73 percent corruption existed in the Telangana state.
Speaking to the media here on Saturday at Gandhi Bhavan, VH demanded the state government to order CBI inquiry into the corruption taking place in the state– how much and where it was taking place, as the state stood second place in corruption. Ridiculing IT Minister KT Ramarao describing Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as a great Hindu, VH said that KTR will remember secularism when he needs Muslim votes. He suggested MIM to review its relations with TRS government, which was adopting dual stand on secularism.
Recalling KCR’s talk about beating with chappal if anybody accepts bribe, VH said that chappals will not be enough if corrupt people were to be beaten with chappal. He alleged that Rythu Bandhu scheme was only for elections and asked KCR to tell as to why the latter failed to extend help to the families of the martyrs of Telangana movement. (NSS)
