Rampur, April 19: Tension prevailed in Ganj area of this district of Uttar Pradesh last night when some people torched six houses after a boy eloped with a girl recently.
Additional police forces were rushed to Ganj area after the girl’s family torched the houses of the boy’s relatives in Jogiyan locality.
Police sources here today said the girl Rukhsar went missing on April 16 and her family alleged that their neighbour’s son Rahul had kidnapped her.
Annoyed with the police inaction against the boy, the girl’s family last night attacked the boy’s house and set the houses ablaze.
Senior police officials have rushed to the spot and patrolling have been intensified in the area.
