Patna, September 21: Patna High Court today rejected the bail petition of former RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin in connection with a kidnapping case in Siwan district here.
Justice Rakesh Kumar dismissed his plea for bail after hearing his counsel Shakeel Ahmed Khan, a former RJD minister and the standing counsel for the state.
Shahabuddin moved the application for regular bail in a case registered against him on August 16, 1994, charging him with being involved in kidnapping of two locals Girish and Satish, who were later freed.
Shahabuddin is at present lodged in judicial custody in Siwan jail in connection with around half-a-dozen cases related to kidnapping and murder.
