Hyderabad, April 10: A division bench of the High Court, comprising Justice NV Ramana and Justice Noushad ali, today ordered appointment of a member to the State Human Rights Commission in two weeks’ time. ironically, the directive to the government came on a writ petition filed by the government against the Lok Ayukta.
Vishwa Shyamalam Samajik Sev Samstha had filed a complaint before the Ayukta against the government on its failure to make such an appointment.
When the petition was allowed, the government filed the present writ petition contending that the had no power to issue such direction and also that the appointment is to be made by the Governor who is not subject to the jurisdiction of the Lok Ayukta.
