Heavy rains lash Delhi, temperature down to 33 degrees

New Delhi, July 21: Heavy rains lashed several parts of the city today bringing much awaited relief for the people who had been reeling under sweltering heat for the last couple of weeks.

The downpour that lasted for over an hour resulted in water logging and slowing down of traffic in some areas.

The rain has brought down temperature to a comfortable level as the mercury plummeted to 33 degrees.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 36.3 degree Celsius yesterday while the minimum was recorded at 31.2 degrees.

The city had experienced monsoon showers on June 30 but the rains almost eluded the national capital after that.

The Weatherman has forecast a cloudy sky with more rains or thundershowers in the city towards the evening.
