Stating that the High Court verdict dismissing the petition failed by 12 TRS legislators as a slap on the face of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today alleged the former has scant respect for the Constitution and judiciary and demanded that the government restore their membership before June 5 evening.
It may be mentioned here that a single bench of the High Court had set aside the Telangana Assembly resolution expelling two Congress MLAs Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and SA Sampath Kumar. The High Court also upheld the single bench verdict delivered in favour of two Congress MLAs.
Reacting to the High Court dismissal of TRS MLAs’ petition here on Monday, Komatireddy charged that Chief Minister KCR was playing games with judicial system. He also said his party would serve contempt of court notices to the Chief Minister, Legislature Secretary and Chief Secretary for not restoring membership of the two Conress MLAs. Reminding that he had asked CLP leader K Jana Reddy and TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy to tender resignations after their expulsions, but both did not respond. We have to get ready for by-elections. He also alleged that the Chief Minister was trying to deceive the Courts like the people. (NSS)
