Hyderabad: Congress leader and Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy heaved a sigh of relief with the High Court sanctioning anticipatory bail on Monday. The court directed him to furnish two sureties with Rs 25,000 each and cooperate with the investigating officers.
It may be mentioned here that a case was filed against Vishweshwar Reddy by the Banjara Hills Police for allegedly locking up two policemen, who came to serve notices after he was found hoarding large amounts of cash to be distributed to voters during the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
When the Congress leader approached the Nampally court seeking anticipatory bail in the case, the court rejected his plea. Then the Congress leader went underground and approached the High Court for relief. The High Court perused his petition and allowed his request.
