He said that he will also visit the voters in Hisar Lok Sabha constituency in Haryana, where bypolls are scheduled on october 13 and request them not to vote for the Congress candidate as party was “deliberately” not bringing the Jan Lokpal bill.
The noted social activist said that the attitude of the Congress party seems to be against the passing of the strong Lokpal bill in Parliament and warned that party will face bad consequences if they do not present a clear picture.
Mr Hazare declined to accept the ‘Mahatma’ title bestowed upon him by the villagers on the ‘Gram Parivartan Din’ (village transformation day) celebrated in Ralelgan siddhi here today.
The title was ssuggested by sarpanch Jaisingh Mapari in his
emotional speech tothunderous applause from the villagers.
Responding to this, the activist said that he was not happy with this development.
“The title does not belong to me, I reject it,” he stressed.
Close aide of Mr Hazare, Arvind Kejriwal, said that the Team
Anna members were not interested in contesting elections but would make all-out efforts to support good and clean candidates irrespective of their party affiliations.
He further said that his team will visit every village in Uttar Pradesh if the government does not pass the bill.
He alleged that the Congress party was deliberately torturing.
