Harish turns tables on Naidu

Telugu Desam party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s reported remark that the chapter of Telangana Rashtra Samithi was over evoked sharp condemnation from Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao on Sunday.

Reacting to the TDP supremo’s provocative remark, the TRS leader said that Chandrababu Naidu was suffering from illusion and speaking all nonsense. Stating that Naidu’s small brain was damaged and needed to be set right, he advised the former to get his brain scanned and undergo medical treatment. .

Speaking to the media here, Harish Rao recalled that TDP candidates had forfeited their deposits in all the constituencies during the last by-election and trailed behind even an Independent candidate. Yet, the TDP leader did not recover from insanity, he added. He also questioned Chandrababu Naidu as to why he was not speaking about Telangana while giving marathon lectures on liquor syndicates and other issues inside and outside the Assembly. “Why was he not accosting the Congress party on Telangana issue?”, he asked.

Pointing out that three Congress legislators had walked out of the ruling party and joined the TRS for political survival, his party has the distinction of defeating then PCC president Dharmapuri Srinivas in the last by-elections even as the TDP backed the Congress candidates, Harish Rao asked whether the TDP or the TRS joined hands with the Congress.

Stating that the TDP leaders had enacted “Babli” drama to save their faces during the previous by-elections in the region, the TRS leader alleged that the former were now trying to enact another drama in the name of Telangana martyrs to hoodwink the people of the region. In spite of their arrests by Maharashtra police during the “Babli drama”, the people of the region did not believe their antics resulting in their losing security deposits in the last by-polls, he added.

Alleging that the TDP has lost confidence of the people, Harish Rao said that Chandrababu Naidu’s party remained buried in the region. Instead of realizing the facts and writing on the wall, Naidu was thinking that the TRS chapter was closed, he said. Pointing out that Chandrababu Naidu had said thousand times that he was not against separate Telangana, Harish Rao said that the people of the region would believe the TDP leader if he tells them that he was in favour of separate Telangana State once. “But Chandrababu was not ready to do so and would remain a Telangana traitor,” he added.
