Harish Reviews on Dindi Project

Expressing unhappiness over the officials for not acting on the G.O.No.146 though it was released three months ago, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has warned the officials to mend their ways to provide water to under the projects constructing G.O.No.146.
Harish Rao conducted a review meeting on Dindi Lift Irrigation project on Friday at Secretariat. On this occasion, he reviewed on G.O.No.146. He asked the agencies to sent proposals before February 20th and directed the officials to terminate the agencies, which fails to send proposals on projects. He enquired about the problems in acquiring the land for the projects. He said that the officials have to acquire the land as per G.O.No.123 while taking the help of district collectors. He said that the department was moving to provide water in the coming Kharif.
Later, the meeting also reviewed on Devadula Project in Warangal district. Roads and Buildings Minister Thummala Nageshwar Rao, who worked as Major Irrigation Minister in United Andhra Pradesh, too participated in the meeting. On this occasion, Harish Rao directed the officials to issue a G.O. by naming Dummugudem project as Seetharama Project and Paler Lift Irrigation Project name as Bhaktha Ramadas Lift Irrigation project.
He also revealed to the officials to conduct a meeting on budget on February 15th. He asked the officials to initiate steps to prepare on it. He asked the officials to come with a pukka plan. Stating that the Irrigation Ministry is an important one in the state budget, Harish reminded the officials that the Irrigation budget must be with Rs.25,000 crore. He also informed the officials that there would be another meeting with the Chief Minister on budget issue.
He asked the officials to prepare the budget in a practical manner and in scientific manner. He suggested the Chief Engineers to prepare budget by reducing non-plan budget. He said that he will examine projects located in Mahabubnagar by staying in the district for two days. He directed the officials to prepare District Irrigation Progressive Card and it reveals the Irrigation projects programs from February to June. He also said that the officials have to discuss with the district public representatives on district Irrigation plan preparing for PMSKY and submit the same to Zilla Parishat.
Harish Rao advised Thummala to complete the High Level Bridge at Rayapatnam in Karimnagar district. Reacting on it, Thummala spoke to officials concerned immediately over phone and directed the officials to complete the bridge before June. The Minister said that the 20 TMC water will stored in the Ellampally Project reservoir after the completion of High Level Bridge.
State Irrigation Advisor Vidyasagar, Irrigation Department Principal Secretary SK Joshi, SNCs Muralidhar Rao, Vijaya Prakash, several CEs and SEs were present in the review meeting. (NSS)
