Hardcore criminal Rama Rao found dead

Vijayawada, May 16: Police late on Saturday night found the body of a hardcore criminal who was on the run after escaping from Srikakulam Jail last month.

According to information available, the body belonged to Thatiparthi Rama Rao, from Rudrakshapalli.

As indications on the victim’s body suggested that he was stabbed, police questioned locals to get some leads of his murder.
The body was noticed by Agiripalli residents in the morning, but it was recognised after five hours.

Rama Rao’s sister Nagamani and brother-in-law Srinivas Rao identified the body.

Tatiparthi Rama Rao was an accused in 7 murder cases committed in Rudrakshapalli on Dec 21, 2005.

Rama Rao was also wanted for robbery and murder in cold blood in Kurnool, Krishna and other districts.

He was apprehended by police and escaped from jail three times, the latest being from the Srikakulam Jail on April 9.

The police have been investigating his murder since Sunday morning, and suspect revenge by the kin of one of his victims as the motive behind his death.

His body was shifted to Nuzvidu for autopsy to find the cause of death. Police say that they have taken finger prints and have found some positive leads. INN
