Haj pilgrims advised to submit their passports with Haj Committee

Hyderabad, June 25 (Siasat News): AP state Haj committee has submitted approx. 150 passport application forms with the regional passport office situated at Secunderabad.

It is to be noted here that AP state Haj committee had started accepting the passport applications forms two days ago. The response was overwhelming and the committee received 200 application forms, out of which 150 forms are dispatched to the office of the regional passport office.

According to the sources at Haj committee, it is now decided that everyday 100 to 150 application forms would be submitted with regional passport office. Officer on special duty and secretary Haj committee, Mohd. Abdul Quddus has advised those pilgrims with passports, to submit the same at state Haj committee.

He said that despite many reminders, many pilgrims have not submitted their passports as yet as it is required for the visa endorsement. He also suggested that those pilgrims whose international passports have expired but haven’t crossed the three years period, they can submit their passports with a D/D of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. One thousand only) to passport office.

They would be issued a new passport within a week. Moreover, those who have crossed the three years limit of their passport’s expiry, they can avail the facility of Tatkal and deposit a sum of Rs. 2500/- (Rs. Two thousand five hundred only) to get a new passport.

Mr. Quddus further said that a temporary passport for eight months, is also being issued by Haj committee and guidance in this regarded is also provided. For the temporary passport, a fee of Rs. 500/- (Rs. Five hundred only) is charged and applications can be submitted with Haj committee.
