Hyderabad, November 15: A guard of an ATM centre was murdered when he tried to foil a looting attempt by miscreants near here early today.
According to police, the miscreants entered the ATM centre after pulling down the shutters. They tried to cut the ATM machine with gas cutters.
When the guard tried to resist them, they strangulated him with a nylon rope and hit on his head with a sharp weapon, killing the guard Mallesh (60) on the spot.
However, the cash in the ATM was in tact, police said.
Special police teams were formed to nab the culprits.
