Dubai, July 07: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has become the first region in the Middle East to begin work on environment-friendly government offices, dubbed “green buildings”.
The project will contribute towards energy conservation, water conservation, promoting public health, reducing harmful emissions, especially carbon dioxide, as well as contributing to the region’s environment in the long run, an official statement said.
The new buildings will be able to withstand environmental challenges and contribute to providing a sustainable environment-friendly workplace, it said.
The most important elements to be taken care of in its implementation would be proper energy-saving cooling systems and optimum water usage, it said.
