Govt To Weed Out Bogus Pattadar Pass Books

Hyderabad, August 26: The Government has decided to take up a drive throughout the State to weed out the bogus ‘Pattadar Pass books’ and issue secured pass books to the farmers in their place. It has also decided to fill up 4,582 vacant posts under various categories in the Revenue department.

Speaking to the media persons after the Chief Minister’s review meeting with high level officials on land administration and ‘Bhu Bharathi’ schemes, the Minister for Revenue, Mr Darmana Prasad Rao informed that in view of the incidents of taking bank loans by furnishing fake ‘Pattadar Pass books’, the bogus pass books weeding out program has been taken up in three districts on a pilot basis.

In Prakasam district, the verification of 30 per cent pass books was completed and 4,242 bogus pass books have been deleted. Similarly, in Ananthapur district, the drive was completed 75 per cent of which 3,223 bogus pass books have been removed while in Warangal district, the drive was fully completed and 2,739 bogus pass books have been weeded out.

The Chief Minister, Mr K Rosaiah has directed the officials to take up steps to weed out bogus pass books throughout the State and submit a report for issuance of new pass books with security features by consulting required agency, he added.

“The Chief Minister has also instructed the officials to prepare a report with practicalities to regularize the lands of the gullible persons, who have been cheated by some persons by selling lands which doesn’t have titles”, he added.

The Chief Minister also directed the officials to circulate the file to regularize the house sites of the poor people in Jawahar Nagar as GO No. 166 hasn’t facilitated to regularize them. With this, the house sites of 14,000 poor families would be regularized, he added.

Mr Prasad Rao informed that the Centre has taken a decision on implementation of second phase of Bhu Bharathi in five districts in the State following the High Court verdict in the matter. The Centre itself would take up satellite imaginary survey in Nellore, Kadapa and Anantapur districts. The State Government would hand over the survey work of aerial photography to L1 tender contracting company in Srikakulam and Karimnagar districts as per the High Court verdict, he added.

RECRUITMENT OF 4,582 VACANT POSTS

He said it was also decided to fill up 4,582 vacant posts including 266 VROs, 676 typists, 295 Junior Assistants, 1,476 Senior Assistants and 66 Deputy Tahsildars in Revenue department. The typist posts and Junior Assistant posts would be brought under same cadre. The basic eligible qualification for the posts would be graduation with required computer knowledge. The Chief Minister has directed the Chief Secretary to take steps to implement the ‘new qualification’ in all departments, he informed. For Senior Assistant posts, the computer knowledge would be made compulsory. The Chief Minister has directed the officials to prepare guidelines on qualification and the type of computer knowledge required to the posts, he said.

“A committee headed by Chief Secretary with one police official, finance department officer and engineer has been setup to prepare plan for setting up of comprehensive complexes where the Tahsildar offices were in dilapidated condition in the state. The Committee has been directed to submit its report in 45 days. The idea of comprehensive
complexes were nothing but setting up of Sub-Register office, Treasury office and police station in a single complex”, he informed.

Referring to the excess rainfall, high inflow to reservoirs in some places, the Revenue Minister appealed to the people in the areas to follow the cautions and alters given by the government authorities. Negligence of the cautions and alters would generally cause loss of lives, he pointed out. Stating that the control rooms have been setup in the selected districts, he informed that relief camps would also setup, if required. (NSS)
