Hyderabad: Govt. schools accommodated in private buildings are facing problems due to non-payments of rents. The owners of such buildings are actively considering getting their buildings evacuated.
It may be mentioned that most of the Govt. schools in Hyderabad city are housed in private and rented buildings. The owners of the buildings have to make rounds of DEO office for getting their rental bills passed.
Govt. officials opined that the rents of Govt. school buildings are released as soon as the budget is released. It takes some time to get the bills passed. In the current academic year, the owner of Govt. school building in Golconda had locked the premises on account of non-payment of rent. DEO negotiated with the owner and ensured clearance. It is therefore necessary either to construct buildings for accommodating Govt. schools or make arrangements for the payment of rents on time.
