Hyderabad, March 02: Official residence of Governor — Raj Bhavan — wore a festive look with Governor ESL Narasimhan celebrating Holi in presence of senior police officials, bureaucrats and politicians here today.
Setting the gubernatorial duties aside, Narasimhan had some fun and frolic applying colours to the people present on the occasion. As anticipated, accepting invitation of Governor who is a former IPS officer, scores of senior police officials and former IPS officers thronged Raj Bhavan to take part in the celebrations. No sooner CPI State secretary K Narayana arrived at the place then the Governor applied colours greeting him.
Expressing hope that the State becomes number one in the country in terms of social development, the Governor said, “The festival of Holi represents the national integration. The colourful celebration should remind us our age-old traditions that echo tolerance and peace is our way of life.’’ This is the first Holi celebration for ESL Narasimhan since he took charge as Governor of the State at the end of last year.
Director General of Police RR Girish Kumar, Hyderabad Police Commissioner AK Khan were present on the occasion along with MP Girish Sanghi. The celebrations started at 10 a.m. and went on till 12 noon.
