Government working for welfare of farmers: Javadekar

Shimla: The central government is working towards the welfare of the farmers and aiming to double their income in five years, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said here on Friday.

The Modi government has also worked out appropriate policies for all sections of society and its big achievements include corruption-free rule, he added.

“Even the opposition has not even been able to put forth any charge of corruption against the Modi government.

“We have brought transparency in governance, gave right to 125 crore citizens of self-attestation, done away with red beacons and started UDAN (Ude Desh ka Har Nagarik scheme) flights for the common man,” he told reporters while listing out achievements of three years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the helm.

Controlling inflation was also among the major achievements, said the Human Resource Development Minister, who was here to chair the meeting of heads of the National Institutes of Technology at the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies.
