New Delhi, May 06: Gold today jumped Rs 365 to Rs 17,615 per ten gram in the bullion market here on aggressive buying by stockists and jewellery fabricators after the prices of the precious metal rose in international markets.
Gold in global markets, which normally set the price trend on the domestic front, rose by 2.67 dollars to 1,177.95 dollars an ounce.
The trading sentiment for gold turned bullish as forex, equity and commodity markets plunged, marketmen said.
Firming trend at the futures trading further fuelled the uptrend, they said.
Standard gold and ornaments skyrocketed by Rs 365 each to Rs 17,615 and Rs 17,465 per ten gram respectively. However, sovereign remained at around last level of Rs 14,150 per piece of eight gram.
However, silver ready lacked necessary buying support and fell by Rs 250 to Rs 27,600 per kg.
