Hyderabad, June 25 (INN): Girls continued to dominate the boys in the state’s educational sector, this time outperforming the boys in the EDCET-2011 examination conducted for admission to B Ed courses, the results which were released on Saturday.
Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education chairman Jaya Prakash Rao, releasing the results on Saturday, said that 98 percent of the students who took the EDCET-2011, cleared it.
Releasing the EDCET-2011 results at the Conference Hall of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, Masab Tank, Prof Prakash Rao said that 1,04,866 girls students and 87,523 boys cleared the test out of the 1,97,420 who took the examination.
The EDCET-2011 was conducted by the Osmania University.
Prof Prakash Rao reminded that 65,000 seats would be available for the students across the state in 616 colleges and added that counselling for the B Ed courses would be held from the third week of July.
According to sources, the demand for the course has increased with the state government conducting massive recruitments for the Secondary Grade and Primary Grade teacher’s posts.(INN)
