Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, GHMC has directed the officials to identify single women beneficiaries for financial assistance within 10 days as announced by the Chief Minister. The Commissioner, GHMC held a review meeting with all the Deputy Commissioners, Revenue, UCD where Ms. Pausami Basu, SERP CEO, Raghunandan Rao, Collector Ranga Reddy, Ms. Prashanthi, Joint Collector, Hyderabad District have also participated in the meeting.
While interacting with the officials the Commissioner directed the officials that this is an innovative scheme announced by the CM and there is every need to identify the single women beneficiaries. He further directed the UCD Wing to coordinate to identify to help the Revenue and other officials to take up the program on priority.
The Commissioner said that World Environment Day is being celebrated on 5 th June in this contest he has directed all the officials to ensure 100% segregation of dry and wet to be taken on priority. Still there is one month time an action plan has to be prepared for the said purpose. Involving all RWS associations and also conducting separate meetings with auto drivers, Swachh volunteers etc., for the segregation purpose the officials must involve public representatives and also Ward Committee and area committee members so as to have more clarity on the issue.
The Commissioner instructed the Deputy Commissioners and AMOHs to personally monitor and see that some of the households are not under the net of segregation for which they have to monitor personally to bring those households under this net. The GHMC is also planning to give a message on dry and wet segregation to all the property tax owners of about 20 lakhs in the city to join them to derive better results.
The Commissioner also instructed the officials to identify the places wherever the public, community and she toilets are needed and also by the end of this month the GHMC officials must ensure that the city must be Open Defacation Free (ODF). (NSS)
